Electrical Product Safety Engineer
Seeking an experienced Electrical Product Safety Engineer to work at its Round Rock, TX lab. Products tested come from a variety of industries, including information technology, medical, defense/aviation, energy, consumer products, and industrial equipment.
Responsiblities:
- Meet with clients to understand their products and their regulatory approval needs.
- Communicate regulatory requirements to clients.
- Perform Product Safety evaluations of clients’ products for worldwide regulatory approval. Evaluations include disassembly and examination of products, performance of electrical and mechanical tests, analysis of data, and documentation of results.
- Communicate discrepancies found to clients.
- Prepare test reports and other documentation to support the appropriate regulatory compliance (NRTL, CB-Scheme, CE mark, etc.) submission.
Requirements:
- BS in Electronics Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with hands-on operation of a variety of test equipment.
- Ability to read and understand complex regulatory standards.
- Ability to prepare technical documentation for regulatory agency submittals.
- Self motivated and reliable
- Prefer knowledge of Product Safety standards, specifically but not limited to: IEC 62368, IEC 60950, IEC 61010, and IEC 60601.
